1. wash and soak gram overnight with soda bicarbonate . 2. Cook garam till tender . 3. Add powdered cardamom ,cinnamon ,cumin ,cloves ,pepper ,coriander and cool . 4. Heat half of the fat . Fry sliced onion,turmeric and chilli powder . 5. Add gram ,tomatoes ansd whole green chillies . 6. Continue cooking and mash gram . 7. Just before removing from the fire add tamarind juice and salt . 8.Boil potatoes and slice . 9. Fry half of the sliced sliced potatoes and add to the gram . 10 . Serve garnished with boiled and sliced potatoes and chopped coriander leaves .
