Directions | How to make Cranberry-Spinach Dal Pappu
 
1).Dry roast the toor dal and soak for 30minutes. 2).Now take 4-5 cups of water in a thick bottomed bowl and bring it to boil. 3).Now add the soaked toor dal to,bring it to boil and cover and cook on low flame until 90 %cooked. 4).Now add chopped onions,green chillies,turmeric,washed cranberries on top of the dal and cook until cranberries are cooked.Add some more water if needed. 5).Finally add chopped spinach and cook for 5more minutes. 6).Add salt,coriander powder,mix well and mash well. 7).Now do the tadka.Heat oil/ghee and add mustard,crushed garlic,curry leaves,red chillies and cumin seeds.Once done,add the cooked dal to the tadka pan and immediately cover the lid and let it stand for 5-10minutes. Mix well and then serve with rice/roti.
