1. Wash and drain gherkins . 2. Cut lengthwise into 8 to 10 pieces . 3. Heat oil. Add mustard seeds . When they crackle add gherkins and saute . 4. Cover and cook over a slow fire till tender . Stir now and then. 5. Remove lid. Add salt ,turmeric ,cumin powder and chilli powder . Mix well . Cook for a further 5 minutes . 6. Add sugar .Mix well and remove .
