Directions | How to make Kwarezimal - Traditional Maltese Biscuits
Combine the ground almonds, the chopped hazelnuts, the sugar, the cocoa powder, the cinnamon and mix. When the ingredients are mixed, add the orange blossom water. Add the egg whites mixture slowly and while continuing to mix. When you get a soft dough, roll into logs and flatten them slightly. Bake for about 8 minutes in an temperature of 160 C (320 F) They should be soft from inside and crunchy from outside. While still hot drizzle with some honey and for decoration
Recipe Tips
Another variation is to use 200g of flour and 200g of ground almonds, no egg whites and baking for about 20 minutes
