Description : Mallige in Kannda means Jasmine, this idli is very famous in Mysore, havent really seen it made in other parts of india. The idlis are called so because of extra softness of these idlis.

Directions | How to make Mallige Idli Or Jasmine Idli
 
1. Soak idli rice and urad dal separately over night or for about 5 hours 2. Leave the yogurt out for about 5 hrs so that it gets really sour 3. Grind urad dal with little water to a very smooth paste and keep it aside 4. Grind idli rice with poha,yogurt and cooked rice to a very smooth paste 5. Mix the rice and urad dal paste together and leave it in a warm place for about 8-12 hrs usually overnight 6. Add salt as per taste 7. Pour the batter into the idli stand and steam it for 12-15 mins, wait for it to cool Soft delicious mallige idlis are ready to be served with coconut chutney or spicy sambar.
