Directions | How to make Pea Nut Red Bell Pepper Chutney

This is a very simple and quick side dish for a lunch or dinner. 1) Heat pan and add oil to it, then add pea nuts and fry till they turn brown (2-3 mins), add red chilli towards the end (to ensure they are rightly fried, as pea nuts take longer time, you may want to remove the red chillies once they are fried) 2) Seperate oil and pea nuts, red chilli now and in the same pan and oil, add asafatdia, cumin, mustard seeds fry on medium for half a min 3) Now add cut bell pepper, toss it for about 2 mins 4) Add tamarind, salt, turmeric powder, slowly toss them for about 1 min 5) Cover the pan for about 4-6 min on medium heat. Till the bell peppers are just over half cooked (not completetly). Let this cool for 2 mins. 6) Add bell peppers, pea nuts, red chilli, garlic and grind it (stop it when it is half grinded). Taste the salt and add if needed. Now add chopped coriander. 7) Grind it until about 80%. This is to leave the traditional texture to chutney (roti pachadi). Yummy traditional roti pachadi is ready. With bell pepper is what my friend and I tried.
