Directions | How to make Samosa Patties
 
Peel, cut and boil potato until tender. Drain and mash potato. Fry onion in butter until soft and add to potato, mixing well. Add coriander, cumin, garam masala and juice from 1/2 lemon, thawed peas and blend well. Add salt to taste. Wet your hands and shape into patties about 2 in. around and about 1/2 inch thick. Place on a plate and cover with plastic wrap. Put in fridge until firm. Heat oil in saucepan, around 2-3 inches in depth. Mix flour, besan flour and baking soda in a bowl. In a separate bowl, beat egg and water. Take patties, dip in egg, then cover with flour mixture. Fry in oil until golden brown. Drain and serve with your favorite chutney. You can add cayenne pepper or minced green chili to potato mix if you like it hotter.
Recipe Tips Serving Ideas
Make sure oil is not too hot, should be around medium high Sweet Onion chutney
