Simple, nutritious Maharashtrian dish made with fresh or dried field beans cooked in a mildly spiced gravy.
Add oil in hot pan and add mustard seeds, when they start to crackle, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, and chopped green chillies. Now reduce the flame and add pinch of hing, turmeric, red chilli powder, goda masala and freshly ground coconut paste. Cook these masala adding little water, salt to taste, pinch of sugar and bring this to a boil. Add the boiled vaal beans or field beans and allow boiling for few mins and switch off the flame. Top it off with finely chopped coriander leaves.
