Recipe of BADUSHA

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Myda 3 1/2 Cup
Sugar 7 Numbers
Bakingpowder(soda Uppu) 1/2 Teaspoons
Ghee 2 Teaspoons
Curd 3 Cup
Salt To Taste
Elachi 2 Numbers
Oil 250 Grams

Directions

Mix ghe,curd,bakingpowder,salt and myda like a chapati dough use curd to make soft dough,no water.

keep the mix into refrigirator fridge for 2 hours oterwise you can cover the mix with wet cloth.

Prepare sugar syrup to string consistency.add elachi powder to it keep aside.

Make lemon size round balls with the mix and press with your thumb on the ball.

Heat oil and fry these balls on medium low heat until balls golden brown then remove( drain the oil) and add to sugar syrup.

I tried this recipe with Baking Soda and the shape completely changed to a round ball and it turned out like bread inside. Could you let me know what went wrong ?

Is it baking powder or baking soda....because you mentioned soda uppu next to baking powder. Tried your recipe with baking powder and it didn't turn out good. So please let me know whether it's baking powder or baking soda....also correct the same in the recipe too. Thanks.
