Recipe of Balchao

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Oil 2 Cup
Ground Turmeric 1 Teaspoons
Kashmiri Chillies 10 Numbers
Peppercorns 1 Teaspoons
Cummin Seeds 1 Teaspoons
Green Chillies, Seeded And Chopped 4-5 Numbers
Ginger, Finely Chopped 1 oz
Chopped Onions 1 Cup
Prawns (shelled). 250 Grams
Minced Handful Of Curry Leaves To Taste
Vinegar To Taste
Salt To Taste

Directions

  1. Grind together the cumin, peppercorns and chillies with the vinegar. Mix in the turmeric.
  2. Heat the oil and add the curry leaves and fry until brown. Add the prawns, masala, garlic, ginger and green chillies. Simmer for 10 minutes or so.

Main Ingredient says Pork, recipe calls for shelled prawns. I am confused. What are we cooking here?

What is onion for? Recipe directions do not say what to do with 1 cup chopped onions.

Anyway this Balchao receipe is meant for Prawns and you wrote that main ingredient is"pork".
let me know which is right?
