Recipe of Basboosah (Hareeseh)

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Coarse Semolina 2 1/2 Cup
Butter 1/4 Cup
Sugar 1 Cup
Vanila 1/2 Teaspoons
Baking Powder 1/2 Teaspoons
Sodium Carbonate 1/2 Teaspoons
Heavy Yoghurt 1 Cup
Almonds (Cut Into Halfs) Numbers
Syrup 3 Cup
Tahini 1/4 Cup
Butter 1 Tablespoons

Directions

Mix the yoghurt,sugar and butter until the sugar totaly disolves. Mix the semolina,baking powder and sodium carbonate and add to the yoghurt mixture. Mix very well (The dough should be heavy) Brush the cooking tray with Tahini ussing a spoon. Pour over the dough and spread equaly. Cut the dough into squar pieces then cut the squares into halfs. Top each piece with a half almond Cook the dough in the over over 375F for 20 minutes or until it gets a golden color. Add the tablespoon of butter to the syrup and spread evenly over the cooked dough. Put it back in the oven for 3 minutes and serve it cool (Not in the refrigerator).

I have made basboosah before. But the recipe is not like this. Its not with curd. Its with semolina, oil/butter, coconut(dessicated) and condensed milk. and its really nice and easy to prepare dessert.
