Recipe of Batata Sukhe

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Potatoes 450 Grams
Grated Coconut 1/2 Numbers
Coconut Oil 15 ml
Red Chillies 5 Grams
Turmeric 1/2 Teaspoons
Coriander Seeds 10 Grams
Fenu Greek 1/4 Teaspoons
Split Black Gram 1 Teaspoons
Onions 85 Grams
Tamarind 10 Grams
Salt To Taste


1. Wash , boil , peel and cut potatoes into small cubes .

2. Roast coriander seeds , fenugreek ,split black gram and red chillies .

3. Grind coconut and turmeric along with roasted spices .

4. Heat half the oil. Fry potatoes ,add ground spices ,tamarind pulp and salt and cook on a slow fire till the spices are cooked and gravy is thick . Remove from fire .

5. Heat remaining oil . Add finely chopped onions . When fried ,pour over potatoes .
