Directions | How to make Chekkalu
 
1)Soak channa dal for half n hour.chop methi leaves finely. 2) grind peanuts ,curryleaves,methi,green chilles with out adding water in to a coase texture. 3)take rice flour in a bowl add the grinded mixture to it and channa dal and also salt to taste and adding water make a smooth dough . 4) now make small round balls as we make for pooris with dough. 5) now hold the ball in ur palm and press them gently so that u can make a small poori .try to make thin so that they will be crispy. 6) place them on a cloth and let then dry while u make the other ones..in this process why we use cloth is it absorbs the moisture present in the dough and set them free. 7) heat oil in a kadai. 8) check that the temp is not too hot by dropping a small amount of dough and then fry all . 9) the delicious chekkalu r ready to e at.this can be stored and they will stay fesh for 1 month.
