salt	to taste	1
sugar	tsp	1
tomatoes	number	2
toor dal or lentils	cup	1
tumeric powder	tsp	1/2
urad dal or split black gram	tsp	2
water	cup	3
Directions \| How to make Cucumber Dal

in a pressure cooker wash dal and soak it in 3 cups of water.....add tomatoes.....add 1/4 tsp tumeric to dal.......close the cooker and switch on the stove and let the dal cook for 10 mins or for about 2 whistles next the seasoning: add 2 tbsp oil 1tsp mustard seeds 1tsp cumin seeds 2tsp urad dal add red chillies garlic 1/4 tsp tumeric add the chopped cucumber and fry for couple mins 1 tsp chilli powder add the cooked dal add salt add sugar simmer for 5 mins switch off stove add lemon juice garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti
