Thyme is a wonderful aromatic herb that retains much of its flavors when dry. It is an incredibly versatile herb that can be added to soups, stews, roasted fish or pork and also goes well with a variety of veggies like carrots, tomatoes, peas etc. Thyme has a subtle, dry aroma with a slightly minty flavor. It is often added in seasoning mix for poultry and stuffing. Thyme is commonly added in fish sauces, chowders and soups. Mushrooms are excellent ingredient that quick’s very fast, has a wonderful earthy flavor, is inexpensive and when cooked with other meats and spices complements well and is full of flavors.

Mushrooms are easily incorporated into a varied dishes such as soups, sauces, vegetable medley curries, stir-fries, pastas and rice dishes etc. On cooking, mushroom mingles well with spices which enhance the flavours and taste. They make the dish more dense, colourful, flavourful and aromatic. Mushroom Chicken is a perfect side dish that goes well with rice, noodles, fried rice etc. It is also the best way to enjoy the goodness with awesome delectable taste that pleases your taste buds with bliss.

This is a very comforting and welcoming dish and a great party dish suitable to serve and delight your guests. Mushroom & chicken are good sources of protein and also brings a pleasant change from the usual chicken curry or Manchurian fry. The Chef Style Mushroom Chicken is a brilliant and fantastic Indo-Chinese fusion dish that on cooking its fragrance would make heads turn for its aroma and flavours lingering around. Stir frying the battered coated fried chicken, potato and mushroom in the spicy sauce and other seasoning entices our palate as the flavours are enduring and overwhelming.

Fresh herbs and spices play a very important role in any cooking. They are generally termed as ‘masala’ in Hindi. The term spices apply to natural plant or vegetable products or mixtures in whole or ground form that are used for imparting flavour, aroma and piquancy to the food.  Fresh herbs are generally sautéed in little oil before adding to the main vegetable or meat so that the delicate flavours are released in the dish. We in India primarily depend on spices for flavour and fragrance as well as colour, preservative and inherent medicinal qualities. All spices have a distinct flavour and taste.

A variety of spices are also mixed together to make various other combination spices which make the food more palatable and tasty. These combination spices are used in various culinary recipes all over India. Spices are made up of many parts of a plant such as fruits, roots, bark, flowers, leaves etc. Some spices add flavour to otherwise tasteless and bland food. Some are used for the beautification and garnishing of the food. Do try different variations while preparing and experiment with various flavours. Mushrooms are enjoyed for their flavour and texture.

The texture of the button mushroom is spongy and bit rubbery. They are very absorbent and clinch seasonings well. With a bit of gentle sautéing or stir frying, you could make tasty and delectable stir-fry mushrooms. Sautéing produces a browned, flavourful outer layer. They can impart their own flavours to food or take on the flavour of other ingredients. Their flavour normally intensifies during cooking, and their texture holds up well to usual cooking methods, including stir-frying and sautéing.

Mushroom are quiet popular as they contain 90 percent water and have few calories. They are cholesterol free and the fat and carbohydrate content is just minimal. Mushrooms are rich in protein and contain vitamins such as B, C and D, while a few contain vitamin A. Be aware that some of the vitamin values are destroyed during the cooking process. Do try this recipe and you will surely find the difference.
