Dryfruits delight is a wonderful Indian sweet dessert that can be eaten throughout the year as it contains a high quantity and variety of dried fruits and makes is exceptionally rich. This dish is best when served during festivals or feasts. This dessert can also be served during tea time.

Dryfruits delight is made with coconut flakes and seviyan cooked in sweet condensed milk and garnished with a variety of chopped and fried dry fruits. Coconut flakes are highly beneficial to health and enhances the taste of the dish giving it a nutty and sweet flavor. Coconut in any form like coconut juice, milk, cream and the shavings of the coconut flesh are used in various forms in Indian cooking. They are added to various curries (Coconut curry, Fish Moilee (Kerala style in coconut milk), Prawn coconut curry and Coconut chutney), desserts (Coconut sweet, Coconut cornflake cookies, Coconut burfi), stews or soups and drinks (Lime, coconut, mint lassi).

Coconut boosts energy and endurance, enhancing physical and athletic performance. It quickly creates a nutritional boost of energy that lasts and supports tissue and muscle healing and repair. Coconut flesh, water, milk or cream is utilized by the body to produce energy in preference to being stored as body fat like other dietary fats. It also improves insulin secretion and utilization of blood glucose.

The other important ingredients making this dish rich are the dry fruits which are considered rich source of nutrients and regarded as delicacies. Any dry fruits like the cashews, walnuts, almonds, pistachio, raisins, dates, hazelnut or peanuts etc can be added in the making of the Dry fruits delight. Dry fruits are hygienically processed and enriched with high nutritional elements to make them delicious and ready to be consumed raw or used in various foods items to make them delicious. Dry fruits are excellent source of minerals and contain substantial quantities of essential nutrients. They are easy to digest and help keeping us healthy. Similar to fresh fruits, dry fruits have strong medicinal properties and used in a variety of sweet and savory dishes.

For preparing this exotic Rava delight, firstly take a pan and add some ghee in it. Add seviyan (Indian thin noodles) and stir in hot ghee until golden brown. Add coconut powder to it and toss well. Then add the chopped dry fruits and heat it for sometime. Do all this over low flame. Switch off the flame and add sweet condensed milk and mix well. Grease a tray and spread this mixture in the tray and cut it into diamond shape and allow it to cool. Serve this with tea or any festival time.

Sweetened condensed milk is an heirloom favorite as a topping for desserts.
