If you are sick of eating just boiled, scrambled, baked eggs, fried eggs or scotch eggs, then here’s an amazing recipe full of flavors and exotic taste. Yeah, would you be able guess……..Yup! It’s the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict minus the routine traditional Hollandaise sauce but mixed with creamy dill butter.

Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict is a luscious crispy English muffin spread with soft and creamy dill butter, a thin slice of smoked salmon and topped with a creamy-yolked poached egg smothered with a dash of black pepper, little salt, cayenne and fresh dill. This dish is delicious and healthy alternative but takes a bit of effort to assemble to give it an attractive look and mouth watering meal but is sure to impress in both appearance and taste.

Traditionally, old fashioned Eggs Benedict is a dish that consists of two halves of an English muffin, topped with ham or bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Eggs Benedict is the quintessential brunch food. It is also an ideal and refreshing dish served for breakfast.

English muffin or a muffin is a small, round, flat or thin type of yeast-leavened bread, almost always dusted with flour or cornmeal which is commonly served split horizontally, toasted and buttered. Muffins are often eaten either as a snack alone or as part of a meal.

To make authentic Smoke Salmon Benedicts, lay out toasted English muffins, top with a few slices of smoked salmon. Just before serving, you will place a poached egg on top, then drizzle (or drown, as preferred) with Hollandaise sauce.

There are many variations that one can create to make appetizing and gorgeous Eggs Benedict. Few popular recipes are Eggs Florentine, substitute’s spinach for ham. Older versions of eggs Florentine add spinach to poached or shirred eggs Mornay – eggs covered in Mornay sauce.  Eggs Blackstone substitutes streaky bacon for ham and adds a tomato slice. Huevos Benedict substitutes avocado for the ham, and is topped with both salsa and hollandaise sauce, Irish Benedict replaces the ham with corned beef or Irish bacon and many more.

Poached egg gives an appetizing and enticing look over the muffin. Poached egg is an egg that has been cooked by poaching, that is, in simmering liquid. Fresh eggs will yield the best results. Broken into simmering water, the white will cling to the yolk, resulting in cooked albumen and runny yolk. Poaching an egg is simple to make with practice. The egg is cracked into a bowl of any size, and then gently slid into a pan of simmering water and cooked until the egg white has mostly solidified, but the yolk remains soft. It is quite common for a small pat of butter or margarine to be added to the container for the egg, to prevent the egg sticking to its container. The ‘perfect’ poached egg has a runny yolk, with a hardening crust and no raw white remaining.

This Hollandaise sauce less Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict is made with a excellent combination of dill butter. To prepare this creamy and delicious butter, in a small bowl, add ½ stick of butter (at room temperature), 2 tablespoon freshly chopped dill, 1 teaspoon lemon zest, salt, fresh ground black pepper and cayenne to taste. Combine all ingredients well to form a smooth paste.

Take 2 English muffins and spread dill butter on side. Over that place thin slices of smoked salmon and top it with poached egg. Drizzle some salt, black pepper and cayenne over for extra flavors. This makes an excellent breakfast contrasted with the fresh notes of the lemon zest and dill along with smoked salmon.
