TIME PASS PHALLI

Every thing about TIME PASS PHALLI | Vahrehvah :

time pass phalli

Phalli mean peanuts. It is also called in different names according to their local languages like the groundnuts, earthnuts, goober peas, monkey nuts and pig nuts. The peanut is a species in the legume bean family. Probably the cultivation of peanut was first domesticated in the valleys of Peru. The shell or pod of the peanuts contains two or three kernels in individual case like pods.

The nuts are egg shaped, and the size depends upon the type of cultivar. Peanuts are often a major ingredient in mixed nuts because they are inexpensive compared to the cashew nuts, walnuts etc. Primarily the peanuts are used in many ways, largely like the Peanut butter, candies, bakery products and the dried ones are used as an ingredient to make spicy masala.

Time pass Phalli is primarily just washing the fresh peanuts and boiling them in salted water. This must have surely rekindled your good old memories of eating fresh peanuts. It’s an earthy experience when you eat the fresh raw peanuts taken out straight from the ground. Its give you a nice sweet flavor and the smell of the mud soil. The fresh nuts are more crispy than crunchy with a mild creamy flavor.

Preparing the Time pass Phalli is too very simple and quick. Wash the fresh peanuts. Take a pressure cooker, add water and salt and put the peanuts into them and cook this in pressure cooker until 3 to 4 whistles. The boiled Phallis are ready to eat. If you do not have the fresh peanuts you can also use the dried peanuts by soaking them overnight and cook them.

For dry peanuts you will require more whistles to cook. But remember that fresh peanuts are always better than the dried ones. In South Asian countries, peanuts are popular as a light snack. They are either roasted and salted or boiled with salt. They are also popularly used as snack with drinks. In Indian cuisine, dried peanuts are roasted and used in salads to give crunchiness to the dish and are also added whole (without pods) to leafy vegetable stews for the same reason. They also prepare a sweet snack by processing with refined sugar and jaggery. It is popularly called as Chikki.

Peanut is a vital ingredient in cooking and also used in many ways that include the Peanut oil, Peanut flour etc. Peanut flour is lower in fat than peanut butter, and is popular with chefs because its high protein content makes it suitable as a flavor enhancer. Peanut flour is used as a gluten-free solution.

While peanuts are considered high in fat, they primarily contain “good” fats also known as unsaturated fats. Peanuts are rich in nutrients. Peanuts are a good source of niacin, folate, fiber, magnesium, vitamin E, manganese and phosphorus. Honestly, raw peanuts are smaller and taste sweeter than peanuts used for roasting.

The reason is because the peanuts are harvested about two months earlier than peanuts for roasting. Fresh peanuts taste like sweet corn. They make a delicious snack with a crack-like addictive quality that keeps your hand going back for more.
