Junnu Recipe, How To Make Junnu Recipe

Junnu is well known favorite Andhra sweet which is prepared from the first day milk of cattle usually the cow or buffalo and one can’t stop their hands from helping a second serve of junnu (milk pudding) as it’s very difficult to get the sweet. It has a very unique and heavenly taste and is traditionally made from Junnu pallu (lactating milk).

Ingredients used in Junnu
• Sweetened condensed milk - 200 grams.
• Sugar - 50 grams.
• Curd (yogurt) - 200 grams.
• Milk - 200 ml.
• Cardamom (elaichi) powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Pepper powder - pinch.
• Nutmeg - pinch.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Mix curd and sugar well in a bowl. Also add condensed milk to the curd mixture and mix well.
  • To this, add warm milk, cardamom powder, nutmeg, pepper powder and mix well.
  • Place this bowl in the pressure cooker with little water and steam cook on low flame for 30-40 minutes.
  • Immerse the bowl when it gets cooled.

Yummy Junnu is ready to eat.
