Recipe of Kakarakaya pulusu

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Coriander pdr  1 Teaspoons
Chilli pdr  2 Teaspoons
Seasame seeds/nuvvulu  3 Tablespoons
Green chillies  4 Numbers
Onions  2 Big
Karela/bitter guard  500 Grams
Salt   To Taste
Tamarind extract  2 Cup
Jaggery/sugar  1 Tablespoons
oil   To Fry

Directions
Wash karela and cut them into pieces. Chop onions, green chillies and coriander leaves. Slightly fry seasame seeds and powder them along with a little jeera, coriander pdr and chilli pdr and keep aside. Take a pan, heat oil. Add jeera when they splutter, add onions. Fry onions for a while and add curry leaves, green chillies and cut karela pieces. Saute karela for 10 min. Add tamarind extract, chilli pdr, coriander pdr, seasame pdr mixture to the karela and close the pan with a lid and let it cook for some time. Add jaggery or sugar. Cook thbis till it reaches to gravy consistency. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with hot rice.
