This is a spicy (zanzanit) recipe for Mandeli fish. This is a maharshtrian dish. This is a small fish. You can also use Tilapia small fillets (finger length) .

Ingredients of Mandeli Zanzanit

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Haldi Powder  1/4 Tablespoons
Red chillie powder  1 Tablespoons
Spicy Small Green Chillies  5 Piece
Oil  1 1/2 Tablespoons
Mandeli fish or small fillets of Tilapia cut in length of fingers.  7-8 Piece
Dried Kokam  4-5 Piece
Salt  1/2 Tablespoons
Water  1/2 Cup

Take the pan (do not put on the gas yet) Add the fish or filltets. You can also use the small cut pieces of Pomphret. Add the 1 and 1/2 tblespoon of oil. Add one table spoon of red chilli powder Add 1/4 tblspooon of Haldi Powder Cut the chilles in a length of 1 inch and give a cut in the middle (do not cut in 2 pieces). You can add the chillies based on your taste as well. more than 3 chillies will make it really spicy. Add Dried Kokam pieces 5 in quantities Add salt to taste Add Water about 1/2 cup. Please make sure that add water in little quantity. Mix this mixture and keep it for 15 minutes. Turn on the Gas and just put the pan as is on the medium flame. Keep the lid on. Cook it for 10 minutes until oil comes up. It should be dried but not completly.
