Recipe of menthi pappu

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Mustard Seeds quarter Tablespoons
Tamarind Juice Or Tamarind little bit Pinch
Curry Leaves one Springs
Onion one Numbers
Coriander Leaves half Bunch
Turmeric Pinch
Mentulu quarter Tablespoons
Red Chillies 5 or 6 Numbers
Toordal one Cup
Water To Boil Toordal
Oil Little two Tablespoons


first in a cooker, put oil, in that oil add mustard seeds crackle, add red chillies break red chillies and add, add mentulu - fenugreek seeds (don't add too much it gets bitter), add sliced onion, add curry leaves, add washed toordal and fry all the ingredients till toordal gets slightly colour and good smell will comes while fring, after that add water to boil ,now add coriander leaves, little turmeric ,and pressure cook upto 4 vissles ,after mashing toordal add salt, add tamarind juice as per the taste. menthi pappu is ready. serve with rice or chapathi.
