1. Wash and cut up the meat. 2. Wash, peel and cut the potatoes. 3. Slice onions, pell and slice half and ginger. 4. Soak tamarind. 5. Grind remaining half of garlic and ginger. 6. Heat fat. Fry onions, sliced garlic, ginger and whole chillies. 7. Add turmeric, coriander powder and chilli powder. Fry well, sprinkling water fromtime to times. 8.When well fried add the ground ginger and garlic, meet and fry for 5 minutes. 9. Add potatoes and salt with warm water. 10. Cook gently till meat is tender. 11. Add tamarind water, bring to boil and remove from fire.
