Onion sambar is very easy and simple to prepare, Onion Sambar is delicious and lip smacking South Indian dish made of lentil, onions and other spices.

Ingredients of Onion Sambhar

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Thuvar dhall  1 Cup
Coriander seeds (Dhania)  3 Teaspoons
Channa dhall  2 Teaspoons
Red chillis  6 Numbers
Methi  1/4 Teaspoons
Onion  2 Numbers
Tomato  1 Numbers
Tamarind paste  2 Teaspoons
Grated coconut  3 Teaspoons
Green chilles  4 Numbers
Turmeric  1/4 Teaspoons
Cilantro a small washed and finely chopped   Bunch
Curry leaves a few   To Taste
Mutard  1/2 Teaspoons
Cooking Oil  2 Teaspoons
Salt   To Taste

Directions
Cook Thuvar dhall and turmeric with extra water and separate thenbsp;
two, and keep them aside.nbsp;
Fry channa dhall, rednbsp; chillies, dhania, methi, and little onion.
Grind this mixture with tomato and coconut.nbsp;nbsp;
Fry onions and green chillis in a pan for a few minutes, and cooknbsp;
this in the thuvar dhall water with salt. After it is cooked,nbsp;
add tamarind paste and cook for a few minutes, and finally addnbsp;
the masala.nbsp; After this is cooked add the cooked thuvar dhall.
Heat little oil in a pan, splutter mustard, and add this to the
sambhar. Garnish with cilantro and curry leaves.
