Description: Eaten with rice, recipe is originally from South Canara part of Karnataka. You can make it as spicy as you like by increasing the no of chilles.

Recipe of Ootada dosai

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Tamarind Paste 1 Teaspoons
Red Chillies 3-4 Numbers
Onion 1/4
Coconut Gratings 2 Tablespoons
Rice 1 1/2 Cup
Salt Pinch


Soak rice for couple of hrs. Grind coarsely all ingredients together. Make it to a dosa consistency batter. Heat the tava. Make fairly thin (not too thin) dosai apply some oil on top. Cook it on both sides. Serve hot with rice, rasam or daal or even yogurt. Yummmyyy!!!!
