Recipe of Palak (spinach) biriyani

Ingredient Name Quantity Unit
Basmati Rice 2 Cup
Spinach (chopped) 1 Cup
Cashew Nuts 1/2 Cup
Cooking Oil 1/2 Tablespoons
Ginger-Garlic Paste To Taste
Cloves 8 Numbers
Cardamoms 4 Numbers
Cinnamon Sticks 2 Numbers
Peppercorns 10 Numbers
Coconut Milk 1 Cup
Salt To Taste


1. Heat oil and fry all the spices, add kaju.
2. Add previously soaked and drained rice. Continue stirring for 2-3 minute
3. Add Ginger-garlic paste. Continue frying it till the raw flavor of ginger and garlic is gone.
4. Add a cup of coconut milk and 2 cups of water
5. Cover and simmer until the rice is cooked.
6.Add blanched and grinded spinach fry for little while to remove the raw flavour
7. Depending on the preference you could garnish with fried onions before serving.
