Recipe of paruppu chutney

Dry roast the red chilli and toor dal in a pan. when the dal turns light brown remove it from fire and add it to the blender. Add some water if needed. grind it to a fine paste. keep it aside. Heat little oil in a pan. Add the mustard seeds, when it crackles, add urad dal and curry leaves. Then add chopped onions to it. fry until it turns golden brown. then add the tomatos. cook it for few minutes until the tomatos are mashed. Now add the mixture to it and add required water. Add the required salt and cook for another 5 minutes.
goes well with idly and dosai.
