Ingredients used in Patra ni machhli
• Handfull of mint leaves, salt, sugar, lime juice - as required to taste.
• 8 to 10 med. green chilles de-seeded and washed - 8 numbers.
• A big bunch of fresh corriander leafed and washed - one bunch.
• One fresh coconut grated - one numbers.
• Thick slicies of fresh pmphret marinated with salt and lime - 1 med. pomphret numbers.
• Tender banana leaves and turmaric leavesas per the slices of fish - fice numbers.
Method:
marinade the washed fish slices with just a little salt and lime juice. Keep aside for half hour. Put together in a mixie grated coconut, de-seeded green chillies, coriander leaves, mint leaves, as per taste salt, sugar, and lime juice. grind this to a fine paste. cover the slices of fish with the tangy chutney all around. (keep the chutney as dry as possible) wrap the covered fish slices one by one in turmeric leaves first and then in banana leaves and tie each with a string. Put all the wrapped slices in a double boiler and steam the fish for 15 to 20 minutes on med heat or till the fish is done. Serve hot along with the wrappings, with Phulkas in a dish.
