Ingredients used in PULI IDIYAPPAM
• Water - 1 cup.
• Rice flour - 1 cup.
• Sesame seed oil - 1-2 teaspoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Urad dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Chana dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Dry red chillies - 2 numbers.
• Green chillies - 2 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Lime juice - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • Boil water with little salt in a pan, when starts to boil add rice flour and mix nicely.
  • Make dumpling and idiyappam mold and press it on greased steamer plate or idly plate and place it in a steamer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Heat sesame seed oil in a pan and mustard seeds, urad dal. Chana dal, dry red chilies, green chilies, curry leaves, turmeric powder, saute it and switch off the flame.
  • Add lime juice, salt and mix nicely.
  • Remove the lid steamed idiyappam cut into pieces, add to above tempering mixture. Switch on the flame and mix nicely.

Now puli idiyappam is ready to serve.

Please do not eat or taste directly from the pan after done with cooking serve it into a plate or bowl ....doesn't look good not our culture.?
