How to make SEL ROTI

Ingredients used in SEL ROTI
• Rice - 1/2 cup.
• Ghee - 1 sticks.
• Sugar - 2 tablespoons.
• Cardamom powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Oil - to fry.
• Potatoes(cubes) - 1 cup.
• Lime juice - 1 tablespoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Red chilli powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Mustard oil - 3 teaspoons.
• Onions(chopped) - 1 number.
• Green chillies - 2 numbers.
• Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Cumin powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
Method:
  • In mixie jar add soaked rice, ghee, sugar and crush it into a paste.
  • Then transfer into a bowl add cardamom powder, water and mix it nicely.
  • Rest it for 10-15 minutes.
  • Pour the batter into a piping bag.
  • Pour into the deep fry oil making a doughnut like shape.
  • Once it comes to the surface and is golden brown at the bottom, turn it over and cook for one minute on the other side.
  • Then transfer into a plate
  • Repeat the same process for other batter.
  • For potato salad, take a bowl add boiled potatoes, lime juice, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and mix it well.
  • Then add mustard oil, chopped onions, green chillies, chopped coriander leaves and mix it well.
  • Transfer into a serving bowl.
  • Transfer sel roti into a serving plate with potato salad.

Now Sel Roti and Potato salad is ready.

This isn't the correct way to make selroti. The batter shouldn't be creamy and thick . After deep frying you soaked in sugar syrup which is completely wrong . Sugar has to be added at the time of batter preparation. Anyway ... you tried .?
