Snake Gourd Yogurt Curry

Ingredients used in Snake Gourd Yogurt Curry
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Green chilly - 3 numbers.
• Red chilly - 2 numbers.
• Cumin seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Mustard oil - 1 tablespoon.
• Snake gourd - 250 grams.
• Turmeric - 1 pinch.
• Salt - to taste.
• Curd (beaten) - 1- ½ cup.
• Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
Method:
  • Heat a pan add mustard oil once the oil is heated add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilly, chopped green chilly, curry leaves, turmeric powder, salt, saute it.
  • Add snake gourd pieces mix it and put the lid on and let it cook on a slow flame until snake gourd is soft and tender.
  • In this add beaten curd mix this and switch off the flame and add chopped coriander leaves.

Serve this with rice.

Good recipe, however one has to careful not to add yogurt while the gourd is still cooking. Curd will lose its smooth texture.

Made this for dinner tonight after finding fresh s.gourd at the markets. Fantastic was right! Thank you vah chef. added the yogurt after turning off the heat. Combined with rice, fried fish and some white lime pickle. Finger licking good.?
