TAWA PANEER MASALA SANDWICH

Ingredients used in TAWA PANEER MASALA SANDWICH
• Green chilies(chopped) - 1 number.
• Paneer(grated) - 1-1/2 cup.
• Oil - 2-3 tablespoons.
• Bottle gourd(grated) - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• White pepper powder - 1 tea spoon.
• All purpose flour - 1-2 tablespoons.
• Onion(chopped) - 1 number.
• Garlic(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Ginger(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Tomato puree - 2 cups.
• Chili powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Green bell pepper(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Sugar - 1 tablespoon.
• Spring onion(green part chopped) - 1/4 cup.
Method:
  • In a bowl add paneer, bottle gourd, salt, coriander, green chilies, white pepper powder, all purpose flour, mix it and make a patties.
  • Take a pan add oil, shallow fry the patties in two sides.
  • When it is done switch off the flame.
  • Take another pan add oil, onions, garlic, ginger, salt, turmeric powder, tomato puree, chili powder, mix it and cook it for 4-5 minutes.
  • Then add water, green bell pepper, sugar, mix it and cook it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Take a plate, place the patties and pour the sauce, garnish with spring onion.

Now the tawa paneer masala sandwich is ready.

Paneer Tawa Kofta Curry 1

Koftas made with paneer steamed koftas dropped in a smooth rich gravy. Paneer Tawa Kofta Curry is a unique and delicious side-dish made with grated paneer and bottle-gourd (ghia) mixed together with spices to form small patties which are shallow fried and then added to a yummy and spicy tomato gravy cooked with bell-peppers and spring onions. Paneer is versatile, soft Indian cottage cheese that blends well with creamy sauces. It is moist and has an awesome crumbly texture. Paneer is one of those few types of cheese indigenous to the Indian sub-continent and widely used in Indian cuisine, Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian cuisine. It is completely lacto-vegetarian and a great source of proteins to the vegans which can be added to classic Indian dishes like kormas, curries etc.

Recipe:  Paneer Tawa Kofta Curry

Ingredients:

  1. Paneer, grated                                        -       2 cups
  2. Bottle gourd, grated                              -       ½ cup
  3. Salt                                                            -       to taste
  4. Coriander leaves, chopped                 -       ½ bunch
  5. Green chillies, chopped                      -       3 nos
  6. Pepper, crushed                                    -       ½ tsp
  7. All-purpose flour                                  -       2 tbsp
  8. Onions, chopped                                  -       1 no
  9. Ginger, chopped                                   -       ½ tsp
  10. Garlic, chopped                                     -       ½ tsp
  11. Turmeric powder                                   -       ¼ tsp
  12. Tomato puree                                         -       4-5 nos
  13. Chilli powder                                         -       2 tsp
  14. Water                                                       -       ¼ cup
  15. Sugar                                                        -       ¼ tsp
  16. Bell pepper, finely chopped                -       1no
  17. Spring Onions, finely chopped         -       2 nos

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add grated paneer, bottle gourd (ghia), salt, coriander leaves, green chillies, pepper powder, all-purpose flour and mix the ingredients well.
  2. Make small patties with this mixture and keep aside.
  3. Heat little oil in a pan and shallow fry the patties on both sides until the tikkis or patties are cooked.
  4. For making the gravy, heat some oil in a pan and when it gets hot, add chopped onions, ginger, garlic and sauté well until the onions are browned.
  5. Add turmeric powder, tomato puree, chilli powder, salt to taste, sugar, bell peppers and little water. Allow cooking for few minutes until to get the right consistency.
  6. In a plate, spread the greens of spring onions and place the patties over them.
  7. Pour the gravy over the patties and serve hot.

Paneer is a rich source of milk proteins and is often added into making some very lip-smacking, expl salads,  snacks, and various curries/ gravies that is worthy to get a connoisseur’s attention and ask for more. Bottle gourd is a very well-known vegetable commonly known as lauki, doodhi, ghiya in hindi. It’s a very versatile vegetable that is used in preparing savoury and sweet delicacies.

This vegetable belongs to the gourd family and has a light green smooth skin and white inner flesh. It is a very common vegetable in most Indian kitchen, loved by some but hated by many. The bottle-gourd is easy to digest as is high in water content and low in calories. There are a variety of dishes that can be prepared with lauki like the popular and delicious bottle gourd halwa, doodhi pachadi, bottle gourd channa dal curry and many more. Lauki is widely used in north Indian cuisine and have created recipes that are par excellence and mouth-watering.
