Ingredients used in BESAN BILLALA PULUSU
• Coriander powder - 1 0.
• Garam masala powder - 1 0.
• Turmeric powder - 0.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 0.
• Onion - 1 0.
• Besan(gram flour) - 1 0.
• Red chilli powder - 3 0.
• Tamarind(lemon size) - 0.
• Coriander leaves - 1 0.
Method:
  • For besan peices: Add salt, red chilli powder and turmeric to besan and mix well.
  • Take a saucepan add a teaspoon of oil and heat it. Add 1 cup of water to the saucepan and bring to boil. Add Besan flour mix to the boiling water and mix well,
  • take care not to have lump, mix vigorously to avoid lumps. Reduce the flame to low soon after adding besan flour. Cook the besan for 2-3 mins and spread the cooked paste on a greased pan or a plate.
  • let it cool and cut into diamond shapes of desired size.(keep a greased pan ready, before cooking besan) For Pulusu: Heat oil in a saucepan and add sliced onion, fry for a minute and add ginger garlic paste.
  • Once the onions turn brown, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. cook for about 20 seconds and add tamarind extract.
  • Add around 4 cups of water and bring to boil, let the water boil for about 15-20 minute on medium to low flame. Add garam masala, freshly prepared coriander powder and finally add the besan peices.
  • Cook for around 10 minutes in low flame. Garnish with fresh corainder. Serve with steamed rice.
