Ingredients used in Bottle Gourd Chicken Curry
• Bottle gourd - 1/2 numbers.
• Oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Black cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Bay leaf - 1 numbers.
• Cloves - 4 numbers.
• Elachi - 2 numbers.
• Cinnamon stick - 1 numbers.
• Onions (chopped) - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Chickpea flour - 1/2 cup.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Chicken (pieces) - 500-600 grams.
• Yogurt - 1/2 cup.
• Dry coconut powder - 1-2 tablespoon.
• Green chillies - 2-3 numbers.
• Red chilly powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Coriander powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cumin powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Water - 1/2 cup.
• Garam masala - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1/2 bunch.
Method:
  • Remove peel of bottle gourd and cut into pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add black cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, elachi, cinnamon stick and saute it.
  • Add onions, little salt and saute it, later add chickpea flour and saute it.
  • Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and saute it.
  • Add bottle gourd pieces and saute it.
  • Now add chicken, yogurt, dry coconut powder, green chillies, red chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, little water and mix it nicely.
  • Place lid and cook it with lid on it until bottle gourd piece and chicken pieces are cooked.
  • Atlast add garam masala and coriander leaves, mix it.
  • Check for seasoning and switch off flame.
  • Now the bottle gourd chicken curry is ready to serve.
