Buttermilk refers to a number of dairy drinks. Originally, buttermilk was the liquid left behind after churning butter out of cream. Buttermilk is the best summer coolant and very healthy drink. It is made with yogurt which is churned well and the fresh butter is separated.

Ingredients used in Butter milk
• Youghurt- - 1 cup.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Salt - 1-2 teaspoons.
• Green chilly - 2 numbers.
• Cumin seeds powder - as required.
• Coriander leaves - 1 springs.
Method:
  • Take green chilies chop finely or crush, ginger chop, curry leaves, coriander leaves chopped.
  • Dry roast cumin seeds and with a roalling pin make powder.
  • In a blender add curd water blend pour into a bowl add salt as per taste mix well then add green chilies, ginger, curry, coriander leaves chopped mix well. this is south Indian buttermilk.
  • North Indian buttermilk,take a glass add cumin powder,chat masala,add buttermilk mix well then top it of with some more cumin powder.

being native american, i'm game on tryin' new stuff and this south indian style buttermilk makes me wanna try it, but one question, how do you make buttermilk, some folks say with a teaspoon of lime juice to ordinary milk,is this correct? ***
