Ingredients used in CABBAGE KOOTU
• Hing - 1 tea spoon.
• Turmeric - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves - 1 bunch.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Oil - as required.
• Cumin - 1 tea spoon.
• Mustard - 1 tea spoon.
• Garlic - 5 cloves.
• Tomato - 1 small.
• Onions - 1 small.
• Channa dal - 1 cup.
• Cabbage - half bunch.
• Green chillies - 2 number.
• Coconut milk - 2 tablespoons.
• Cumin powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • Boil channa dal in cooker till soft and not broken with turmeric.
  • Heat oil, add mustard, curry leaves, hing and crushed garlic.
  • Add onion, green chilles and fry well. add tomatoes and fry add chopped cabbage and simmer with sprinkling water ever now and then.
  • When cooked add the channa dal, salt, cumin powder and coconut milk. finish with coriander leaves.
