Ingredients used in Chaat (Fiery Fruit Salad) North Indian Style
• Mixed fruit - 3 lbs.
• Fresh lemon juice - 4 tablespoons.
• Cayenne - 2 teaspoons.
• Cumin seeds (roasted and crushed into a powder) - 1 tea spoon.
• Paprika - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - 1 tea spoon.
• Black pepper - 1 tea spoon.
• Mint - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Powdered ginger - 1 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Place all fruit in a large serving bowl and mix with lemon juice.
  • Mix all the spices (powdered ginger, cayenne, cumin seeds, salt, black pepper, mint, paprika) in a separate bowl.
  • Then pour over the fruit and mix well with your hands. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until well chilled, at least 1 hour.
