Ingredients used in Cholley bhaturey
• Oil - 3 tablespoons.
• Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Amchur powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Chana masala powder - 1 teaspoons.
• Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Corainder powder - 1 tablespoons.
• Salt - 1 to taste.
• Baking soda - 1 pinch.
• Teabag - 1 or 2 bag.
• Chick peas (garbanzo beans) soaked overnight - 1 cup.
• Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoons.
• Chopped green chilli - 2 piece.
• Chopped coriander - 1 tablespoons.
• Lemon - 1/2 piece.
Method:
Boil the overnight soaked chick peas with teabag(s) and salt. add a pich of baking soda when water starts to boil. once tea is boiled with chick peas, a nice aroma and brown color will be asserted in chick peas. once chick peas are softer remove the chick peas and seprate them from the water. save the boiled water. In the hot chick peas, Add all the dry powders. mix them well. now in a pan, heat 1 tbspn of oil. Add the podwered marinated chick peas and fry it for 2 mins. Add the saved water (about 1 cup) to the pan and let it come to boil. cook for another 3-4 mins. heat the rest 2 tbsp oil on the side. when gravy in pan becomes thick, add the heated oil to it and let it cook for another 2 mins. Take it out of pan and add green chilli, chopped coriander leaves and squeeze in lemon. Eat it with puri, bhatura, roti or naan. I am sure reading this recipe is making your mouth watery. Its my humble request to Mr. Thumma to have a video of this as it is so delicious.
