Ingredients used in Cucumber Buttermilk Curry/Vellarikka Moru Curry
• Cucumber - 1 numbers.
• Curd - 3/4 cup.
• Green chilli - 5 numbers.
• Tomato - 1 numbers.
• Shallouts - 5 to 6 numbers.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tablespoons.
• Grated cocunut - 3/4 cup.
• Dried red chilli - 2 numbers.
• Mustard - 1/2 tablespoons.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Fenugreek powder - pinch.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Water - .
• Oil - .
Method:
Cut the cucumber into medium cubes.Cook cucumber,shallots,green chilies ,tomato and little salt in 1 cup of water till the cucumber gets little transparent.In between grind the grated coconut,curd and cumin seeds to fine paste and keep it aside.Add this fine paste to the cooked cucumber and mix well.Close it with a lid and let it cook till the gravy become thick.Then remove it from the flame. Heat oil in another pan,add dried red chilli,mustard seeds,fenugreek powder and curry leaves.Pour it immediately to the cooked curry.Serve with rice.
