Ingredients used in DRUMSTICK LEAVES SAMBAR OR SAMBAR WITH GREENS-1
• Drumstick leaves (chopped) - 1 cup.
• Toor dal/pigeon pea - 1/2 cup.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Red chilies - 3 number.
• Fenugreek seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Onions (chopped) - 2 number.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Hing - 1 tea spoon.
• Tamarind juice - 1/2 cup.
• Oil - as required.
• Coconut pieces (chopped ) - 1/2 cup.
Method:
  • Boil the toor daal and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, red chilies, fenugreek seeds, onions, curry leaves, onions, turmeric powder, salt, hing and sauté it.
  • Add coconut pieces, tamarind juice, sambhar powder along with water, close the lid of the pan and once it comes to boil, remove the lid.
  • Then add boiled dal, drumstick leaves, sugar and cook for some time then switch off the flame.

Drumstick leaves sambar is ready to serve.
