1. Clean, wash and slice the fish.
2. Grind to a fine oaste the chillies, cumin seed, garlic, turmeric and ginger, if used.
3. Smear on thr fish and keep aside for 5-10 minutes.
4. Heat oil. Fry lightly on both sides. nbsp;Remove.
5. In a pan, heat the remaining oil. Fry the remaining spices.
6. Add about 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil.
7. Add fish, salt and vinger.
8. Simmer till the fish is done. Taste and remove.nbsp;nbsp;
