Ingredients used in Horlicks Oats Vegetarian Cake
• Horlicks oats - 180 grams.
• Milk powder - 60 grams.
• Icing sugar - 60 - 80 grams.
• Baking soda - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Baking powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Unsalted butter (cubes) - 2 number.
• Chocolate - 100 grams.
• Cinnamon powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cocoa powder - 40 - 50 grams.
• Oil - 80 grams.
• Butter - 20 grams.
• Water - 250 -280 ml.
Method:
  • Make a fine powder of horlicks oats ( 180 grams ) in a blender and transfer to a bowl.
  • Use double boiling method to melt chocolate ( 100 grams ) by adding butter ( 20 grams )(i.e., Boil water in a pan, on top of it place another pan with chocolate then let it melt with the heat of boiling water).
  • Then, add oil ( 80 grams ) in melted chocolate in small quantities and mix it thoroughly.
  • Now, take the bowl with powdered horlicks oats and mix well by adding baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon powder, icing sugar ( 60 - 80 grams ), cocoa powder ( 40 - 50 grams ), milk powder ( 60 grams ) and melted chocolate.
  • Then, stir the mixture by adding water ( 250 -280 ml ) in small quantities and make sure it reaches to the cake batter consistency.
  • Place butter paper in the baking tray and transfer the cake batter to it.
  • Now, place the baking tray in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes at 180 degree centigrade .
  • Then, remove the baking tray from oven, cool and demould.
  • Slice the cake into two halves and wet it with sugar syrup.
  • Now decorate the cake by using whipped cream and sprinkle grated chocolate over the cake.
  • At last, cut the cake into pieces and serve it .
