Shrimp or Prawn is a very popular food in and around coastal region of India. Most of the people enjoy cooking shrimp as they get cooked quickly and there are many ways to prepare. You could always make varied variations in preparing shrimp or prawn.
Pan fried, stir-fried, deep fried or battered is some of the easy and quick to make methods and most recipes are simple to prepare and fresh. They also best suit as starters or include in an impromptu dinner party. Battered fried or deep fried prawn are extremely exotic, delicious, crispy exterior and on biting is juicing and gives a pleasant savor to the palate. Prawns or Shrimps as widely known as is an excellent and delicate seafood next to fish. It blends well other flavors and is fast to cook.
It is believed to be the most popular seafood that is low in calories and saturated fat which makes it a healthier alternative to other milk proteins. Shrimps come in a varied range of size and colors that include gray, brown, pink and yellowish. When cooked, prawns give a pleasing orange in colour and become opaque.
This is available right through the year, fresh or frozen. Shrimps can be cooked in various ways, fried, in curry or made into fritters. They can be served for starters, side dish or in main course. They're a great source of Omega3 fatty acids and an excellent way to get your proteins.
They're also high in iron, zinc and vitamin E but low in saturated fat. Provided you're not gorging on batter-fried or crumbed and fried prawns, you probably don't even need to worry about the cholesterol levels in them being excessive. The most important or highlighting part is the flavor as they're really tasty when cooked! India's coastal regions have an abundance of seafood, so prawns are prepared in a large number of ways. It is exceptionally made with prawns marinated in a spice mix made with red chilli powder, pepper powder, salt, ginger garlic paste, coconut powder, corn-flour and turmeric powder; then deep fried until golden in colour.
