Ingredients used in Kara Poli
• Beetroot (grated) - 1 cup.
• Oil - as required.
• Onion (chopped) - 1 number.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Green chilies (chopped) - 3 number.
• Green peas (boiled and slightly crushed) - 1/2 cup.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Garam masala powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Chaat masala powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Potatoes(boiled and mashed) - 1 cup.
• All-purpose flour - 1 cup.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions, toss it, add salt, turmeric powder, finely chopped green chilies, and saute until the onions turn slightly transparent.
  • Then add crushed green peas, red chili powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, chat masala, grated beetroot, saute well, add boiled and mashed potatoes, mix well and cook for about 5 minutes, turn off the flame and keep aside.
  • Take all-purpose flour in a mixing bowl, season with salt (to taste), add little oil, water as required, knead to a soft dough, top it some more oil, let it rest for about 10 minutes, knead the dough for one more time andrest for another 10 minutes.
  • Now, take required portions of the prepared dough, stuff with dumplings of the prepared beetroot and potato mixture, seal them, roll to rotis, fry on both sides and transferto serving plate.

Delicious Kara Poli is now ready to serve.
