Ingredients used in karela fry
• Karela(bitter gourd) - 5-6 small.
• Dry coconut - 3 tbsp .
• Ground nut - 2 tbsp .
• Coriander seeds - 2 tbsp .
• Jeera - 1 tbsp .
• Red chillies - 10 .
• Garlic - 10 flakes .
• Oil - 5 tbsp .
• Tamrind - lemon size .
• Salt - according to taste .
• Turmeric - 1/2 tbsp .
• Water - 1/2 cup .
1. Take a kadai. Put 1/2 cup water, tamrind and water , and karela.keep the gas in a slow flame. 2 when the water is absorbed, and the karela is cooked , squeese slightly the water from it. 3. fry all the rest ingredients one by one and ground into a dry coarse powder. 4. take a pan , put 2 spoons of oil and fry the karela till red, then put turmeric powder,and the ground powder and fry, 5. check salt and put accordingly.. u wont find the karela to be bitter...its tastes...yummmy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! same thing u can do to stuff the karela.. fry all the ingredients..,, scrape the outer karela and stuff the ingredients and do same as sanjay has shown in the stuff karela..its gr8 too.. thanks..and njoy cooking new and good fresh food. :-)
