Ingredients used in Khitchdi
• Pulao rice - 500 grams.
• Lentil - 225 grams.
• Peas - 225 grams.
• Potatoes - 450 grams.
• Onion - 225 grams.
• Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Chillies powder - 1 teaspoons.
• Cumin - 1 teaspoons.
• Salt - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Cardamom - 2 grams.
• Sugar - 1 pinch.
• Fat - 50 grams.
soak lentil and rice separately. shell peas peel potatoes slice onions, Heat fat. browen half the onion remove and keep aside. brown remaining onions, lentil, sugar and spices, add rice and vegetables kept whole. fry till rice beging to stick. cover with hot water to aboutnbsp; 2.5cm above leavel of solieds. add salt. cook on very slow fire. keep live coal on lid Whennbsp; rice, vegetables and lentils are cooked and all moisture is absorbed, re,move. serve hot garinished with browned onions.
