Ingredients used in Macher Tela Jhol
• River fish - 1000 grams.
• Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoons.
• Kalonji seeds - 2 teaspoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Mustard oil - 80 grams.
• Tomato - 50 grams.
• Green chilly - 20 grams.
• Red chilly powder - 1 tablespoons.
• Fresh coriander leaves - 25 grams.
Method:
Cut the fish, into pieces after de-scaling and apply salt and turmeric. Set aside. Deep-fry the fish till crisp and reserve. Smoke oil and crackle kalonji seeds. Make a paste of turmeric and red chilly in water and add to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes. Add chopped tomato, slit green chillies and salt and simmer. Add fish pieces and simmer. Serve hot garnished with fresh coriander leaves
