Ingredients used in Mattar ki Dal
• Deseed green peas - 1 cup.
• Ginger - 1.5 teaspoons.
• Garlic - 1 teaspoons.
• Cumin seed - 1 teaspoons.
• Green chilles - 4 numbers.
• Salt - to taste.
• Termeric - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Coriander powder - 1 teaspoons.
• Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Bay leaves - 4 numbers.
• Oil - 4 tablespoons.
• Water - 2 cup.
Method:
Coarsely grind ginger, garlic, green chilles and peas. Heat oil in a thick bottom kadhai. Add bay leaves, cumin seeds and the paste. Add all the dry ingredients except garam masala powder and cook in medium heat till the peas and cooked. Cover the kadhai and occasionally stir the mixture. Add water if the mixture stick to the bottom.When the peas are done add hot water to get a thick dal like consistency. Cover and let it cook when you see oil separating (floats on the top) from the mixture add garam masala powder and cook for 2 mins more .
