Ingredients used in minapappu curry
• Split urad dal soaked for 30 mins - 1 cup.
• Oil - 3 tablespoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Whole garam masala - 1 tablespoons.
• Sajeera seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Red chillies - 2 numbers.
• Chopped onion - 1 small.
• Green chillies paste - 1 tablespoons.
• Salt - 1/2 tablespoons.
• Turmeric - 1 teaspoons.
• Water - 2 cup.
Method:
In a pan/cooker add oil. when oil is hot a little - add mustard seeds. Add Whole Garam Masala, cumin/saajeera, red chillies and chopped onion and saute. Add green chillies paste, salt and turmeric. Add water to this and let the mixture come to boiling point. Now add urad dal. let dal cook until dal is soft. dal should look grainy but not too dry nor mashy. If you cook in a cooker 1 or 2 whistles should be enough.
