Ingredients used in moong dal halwa or asoka halwa
• Red colour - .
• Cardamom powder - 1 teaspoons.
• Ghee - 6 tablespoons.
• Sugar - 1 cup.
• Moong dal - 1 cup.
• Water - .
• Salt - pinch.
Method:
fry dal in a dry kadai it turns light brown. in the same kadai put waterand bring dal to boil mash the dal very well put ghee in nonstick kadai add dal and pinch of salt.keep stirring once the dal coming along with spatula without sticking to kadai add sugar cardamom powder and colour (not too much). keep stirring

asoka halwa has wheat flour in addition to mung dal. this recipe is not authentic. coming from the website of vahchef...very disappointed.
